we update our inventory consistently and multiple times daily. item quantities are adjusted as pieces are promised to customers. there's always the chance that you'll order the last copy of a record at the same time another shopper does. in this situation, the record may erroneously appear available to you. this isn't likely, and you will not run into situations where an order of 10 records ends up an order of 5. generally, you should feel confident that what you see is actually on hand and ready to ship.

we order new releases friday and saturday. they arrive here the following wednesday and thursday. if you'd like to hear about what's coming out, call or email on saturday. if you have something in mind, that's the time to order to ensure you have a copy waiting on wednesday.

the wish list option is for you to keep a list of stuff you might want to buy down the road. we don't check your lists. these are for your use only.

money orders take too long to reach us and it's unfair to other customers to hold records for this long. paypal.com is a great service that transfers money instantly from your bank account to ours.

your paypal total and instructions will be emailed to you shortly after you place your order - no more than 12 hours later and in less than an hour if you're in the states. make sure you give us an email address that you'll be checking. we don't abuse or share our mailing list and we won't even add you to our mailing list unless you ask us to. but we will be emailing you confirming your order and telling you how to complete it. we suggest paying quickly so that we can pull your selections. waiting a day or more increases the chance of items going out of stock. we cannot reserve your selections until they're paid for.

shipping - methods and cost
we ship anywhere. we might ask for additional information from you for orders from certain areas of the world. it's a good idea to set up a paypal account if you're in indonesia or areas known for high rates of credit card fraud. USPS is our preferred shipping method for all orders. overnight orders are shipped FEDEX.  overnight shipping starts at $35 for one record and depends on location.  orders qualifying for free shipping are shipped USPS media mail (U.S. only) with tracking.  orders not qualifying for free shipping are shipped USPS priority mail (U.S. only).  the price is $8.50 and includes tracking.  orders are shipped from pittsburgh.  packages shipped media mail take anywhere from 1-10 days.  packages shipped priority take 1-3 days.  packages shipped outside the U.S. take 6-10 days.  orders generally make it through customs without problems - but in rare cases customs may hold a package or return it to us.  there is no inexpensive way to track packages shipping outside the U.S.  to track a package go to usps.com

here's what you can expect to pay for shipping. these numbers are estimates. keep in mind that especially for overnight orders, prices will vary depending on your location. refer to fedex.com for shipping quotes if you're unsure what method to choose.

rare/used records - grading system

• (mint) brand new, flawless, sealed or open but unplayed
• (near mint) almost flawless, one or two very slight visible marks or very light scuffing that would not affect play
• (very good+) more than a couple light scratches or scuffs that do not affect play significantly
• (very good) more than a couple light scratches or scuffs that affect play to a very small degree
• (good+) more than a couple light scratches or scuffs that affect play, slight warps good will play through without skipping, significant surface noise, visible groove wear, slight warps
• (fair) a record that's been well played, has several apparent scratches or scuffs, is playable but with noticeable audible noise, warps
• (poor) a record that's been neglected and has little listening value. we usually don't offer vinyl in this condition

returns
all merchandise is carefully inspected when we receive it. if for some reason, something slipped by us and reaches you with a defect, we'll gladly exchange it for you or issue a store credit. please email us or call the store within 48 hours of receiving your order, notifying us of defective merchanside. we cannot accept returns on items that you simply don't like. use audio samples before you order to make sure you know what you're buying.
